The Harvey Cedars Bible Conference family has it covered for you.  We will provide spiritual sessions morning and evening while your children attend age appropriate groups of their own.  Meals? Travis & Carol Turner, Divine Romance Ministries

Travis and Carol Turner have been mentoring men and women in the area of marriage relationships since 1992.  They are the founders of Divine Romance Ministries, Inc. which provides Christ-centered mentoring/coaching. Travis and Carol, married in 1985, home schooled their two children.  Travis is also a featured instructor in the Christ Quest Institute. His experiences as a business man with the largest home inspection firm in Arizona and a thriving real estate business and as a starting quarterback at the University of Nebraska, have given him a unique blend of ministry, business, and sports experience to inspire leadership in the home.

July Family Week July 3-9

Dr. Liam Goligher, Tenth Presbyterian Church Philadelphia

We are excited to have Dr. Goligher with us for the first time at Harvey Cedars.  He is a gifted Bible teacher and you will be challenged as he opens up God's word. Dr. Goligher serves as Senior Minister of Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Reformed Theological Seminary (MS) and has served as Senior Minister in Ireland, Canada, England, and his native country, Scotland.  He has contributed to more than ten books and authored four: A Window on TomorrowThe Fellowship of the KingThe Jesus Gospel, and Joseph—The Hidden Hand of God. His Sunday sermons are webcast on the internet and on the radio program No Falling Word.  Liam and his wife Christine have five children and nine grandchildren.

Dr. John W. P Oliver, Reformed Theological Seminary

We are excited to welcome back Dr. Oliver.  His love for scripture and the Lord comes out in his fatherly delivery.  Dr. Oliver joined Reformed Theological Seminary (NC) in 1999 and is Professor of Homiletics and Practical Theology Emeritus. He previously served as the pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Augusta, GA, for 29 years and also served as pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church in AL and assistant pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in IL.  Dr. Oliver is a frequent conference speaker both in the states and abroad, particularly in Africa and Asia. He has served on the boards of Columbia International University (Chairman), Westminster Schools of Augusta, Mission to the World, and Bailey Manor Christian retirement Center in South Carolina.

 

Family Week 1 August 7-13

Dr. Charles Zimmerman, Pastor, Calvary Church of Souderton
Charles Zimmerman is one of our most popular speakers.  His ability to speak to all generations from all walks of life is unique.  We are happy that he will be back with us this summer.  Dr. Zimmerman graduated from West Chester University and Biblical Theological Seminary. He began teaching at the graduate level at BTS in 1985, continued his own education, and earned a doctorate in theology from Westminster Theological Seminary.  Charles currently chairs the Department of Practical Theology at Biblical Theological Seminary.  As well as teaching, he also serves on senior leadership and as the teaching pastor at Calvary Church in Souderton, PA – a role he has held for over 20 years.  Charles resides in Hatfield, PA with Kim, his wife of 33 years.  They have two adult daughters.

Pastor Matt and Sharon Read, Calvary Church of Souderton

Matt and Sharon will team teach this summer.  They have tremendous hearts for people which will be evident during the sessions.  They regularly speak together on marriage and family topics at seminars and conferences. Pastor Matt Reed is Associate Pastor at Calvary Church. His responsibilities include local, regional, and international outreach as well as adult ministries and the counseling center. Anyone who has ever had the privilege of hearing one of his sermons knows that he is a very devoted man of God who loves teaching others about the Word.  Sharon Reed is Senior Vice President of Insurance Operations for a long-term care insurance company and is a board member for several international mission agencies.  She coordinates student mission trips, speaks with Home Field, and connects people to ministries at Calvary Church. Matt and Sharon have a married daughter and a son.

Family Week 2 August 14-20

Dr. Todd Williams, Cairn University

We are looking forward to having Dr. Williams join our speaking schedule this year. He has spoken at a number of conferences at Harvey Cedars in the past and I know you will be blessed as you sit in the sessions. Dr. Williams has been president of Cairn University since 2008.  He holds a B.S. in Bible from Cairn University, as well as a M.Ed. and Ph.D. from Temple University.  He is an experienced educator, leader, and consultant, and he regularly speaks on biblical, cultural, and professional issues.  Dr. Williams is also the chairman of the Board of Governors of the John Jay Institute in Philadelphia, PA.  He and his wife, Dawn, have two adult children, Connor and Caitlin.

Bill McCutchen, Hilton Head Presbyterian Church

Bill McCutchen will be returning again this year.  God has given him the gift of being able to speak from his heart.  He is a true shepherd and has a tremendous marriage ministry.  We always look forward to having him on our speaking schedule. Reverend McCutchen is Lead Pastor at Hilton Head Presbyterian Church in SC. Bill has a Masters of Divinity degree from Reformed Theological Seminary of MS. Bill’s experience includes college and singles ministry, working with discipleship, marriages, and families, planting a church, and shepherding ministries.  Bill has been married to Lisa for 25 years and the Lord has blessed them with three great sons. 

Family Week 3 August 21-27

Rev. Don Meckley, Emmanuel Community Church

We are looking forward to having Don Meckley, from one of our supporting churches, here with us this summer.  Don speaks with great passion and is gifted to motivate and mobilize listeners.  Reverend Meckley is Pastor of Emmanuel Community Church in Bayville, NJ.  He and his wife, Lisa, are graduates of Liberty University and have two children.  Rev. Meckley shares, “We have lived in New Jersey for 15 years and look forward to the opportunities of each day to let the glory of the Lord rise among us!”

Dr. Wendell Calder, Local Church Evangelism

We are excited to introduce Dr. Calder to the Harvey Cedars' community.  He is a well known conference speaker.  His passion for people will be very evident as he opens up God's word.  God has also given him a passion for the lost.  Dr. Calder lives in Maine but is involved in ministry around the world.  He served for 16 years as a Pastor prior to founding the ministry Local Church Evangelism in 1975.  The ministry offers evangelism and teaching to local churches. He also serves as a Guest Lecturer at Word of Life Bible Institute.  As he says, “I have a heart for the local church with a desire to see people saved, baptized, and become involved in service for our Lord.”

Family Week 4 August 28-September 1

Rev. Dr. David Martin, Evangelical Free Church of America

We are looking forward to David Martin's return to Harvey Cedars again this summer. David is a wonderful Bible teacher and is able to open up the deeper things of God.  Rev. Dr. Martin was called at 24 years of age to become the first pastor of the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey, PA and served there for nearly 37 years.  The Lord then called Dave into a ministry of developing new and younger church leaders and he is now the Director of the GATEWAY Theological Institute for the Eastern District of the Evangelical Free Church of America.  GATEWAY provides an alternative “gateway” to theological education and credentialing in the Free Church. Dave has been married to his high school sweetheart, Sharon, for 49 years.  They have two grown children and eight grandchildren.

Ron Schmidt, Teaching Pastor, Davisville Church
