Letter from the Director — Fall 2025

Sometimes circumstances outside your control have significant repercussions on society, your organization, or you personally. We are entering one of those times in relation to the NJ Department of Environmental Protection. A proposed rule change, if adopted, will impact future development at HCBC.

I ask that you pray for us and that our application—submitted prior to the new rules’ introduction—would be approved. There is only a small window of opportunity for such applications to be accepted. I worry about the detrimental effect these new rules could have on our future ministry if we are unable to improve or enhance our facilities as needs arise.

The plan we’ve submitted seeks permission to build a portico featuring a handicap lift on the front of the Victorian Hotel. Along with the entrance improvements, we also need to relocate the boilers from under the hotel to above the ground. We also would like to add an outdoor pool to the main courtyard and a new playground near the tennis court to benefit our young families. We believe these will position us for ministry for years to come or until the Lord returns.

For years, God has guided us through many improvements and challenges, and we continue to trust him. Join me in praying for God’s will to be done as we seek to keep improving Harvey Cedars. I believe that nothing happens without prayer, and I felt it was important to let you know how you can partner for us for the Kingdom.

Sincerely,
Jon Oldham, Executive Director
