Two Upcoming Winter Chill Weekends

Who takes a youth group to the ocean for a winter retreat? Wise leaders who see the value of pulling their teens apart to be in a better relationship with God.

So many teens are over-committed, involved with sports and clubs and keeping focused on their schoolwork. It’s often hard to help them see the value of “God time.”

Winter Chill lets middle and high school students get better acquainted with their church and see how others from different churches work out their faith.

“That weekend of being together helped cement relationships that make their local youth group an asset to them,” said a youth leader from PA. “HCBC’s commitment to young people is evident as they provide time, space, and speakers to augment what local youth leaders are doing.”

Winter Chill has been called “well-run, carefully-planned, and geared to youth.” New accommodations make it a pleasant experience and provide more group activity opportunities.

Youth weekends like Winter Chill have immense spiritual value. Another leader shared that two students made commitments to be more intentional in sharing their faith back at home. They have unsaved friends for whom the gospel will be life-saving.

Other groups commented on having young people make first-time commitments to Christ.

It may be cold. It may even snow. But the Spirit of God moves over HCBC powerfully during these weekends. 2026' will see two Winter Chill weekends on the schedule—talk it up to your youth leaders!
