New Board Member: Jean Walters

Gil Vining, HCBC Board of Trustees member and Associate Pastor at New Hanover UMC in Gilbertsville, PA, introduces our newest member, Jean Walters:

I have known Jean for almost 20 years. Jean and her family attended our church and that is where I got to truly know Jean and her heart for people and the Lord. Her children attended and were very involved with our youth ministry. Jean was one of the youth leaders for our church during Youth Weeks at Harvey Cedars Bible Conference.  This is where her love for HCBC began.

When the newest section of Bayview Lodge was being planned, I asked Jean and her husband, Cal, to get involved. My brother-in-law, Kent Henley, passed away at a young age. Kent loved Harvey Cedars. Because of friends like Cal and Jean, we were able to raise enough funds to dedicate a room in Kent’s honor. Jean and Cal were generous and kind in supporting this project.

Jean is also a woman of business. She is very intelligent and qualified in her area of expertise. Jean is an accomplished leader with broad experience in managing blockbuster pharmaceuticals and vaccines – from early product development through launch and loss of exclusivity. Jean is passionate about building strong leaders and effective teams and winning business outcomes.

Presently, Jean is the U.S. Commercial Leader, Vaccines for Johnson & Johnson. In this position, she is leading the cross-functional vaccines team including leading the team to successfully bring the Janssen Covid-19 Vaccine to market for Emergency Use, and building the Janssen Vaccines business model.

Because of her many talents and skills, I look forward to working with Jean on the Board of Trustees of Harvey Cedars Bible Conference.”
