Letter from the Director, Summer 2026
A letter from Executive Director Jon Oldham:
It is a beautiful day here at Harvey Cedars. As I look out my window, I see the blue sky and majestic clouds forming over Barnegat Bay. We have 300 junior high students here today, and God is doing a great work in their lives. Just this morning, I received reports of students coming to Christ and many confessing their sins and asking for forgiveness. This is a place that God uses to work in the lives of the people who come here. As I gaze out the window, I am filled with anticipation and excitement about what He is going to accomplish here this summer. Will you pray with me that many lives will be changed this year at Harvey Cedars?
As I watch the news, I continually shake my head in confusion. There is not much that makes sense in our culture today. Things that I know to be true are being questioned, and the moral fabric of our culture is eroding at a very fast pace. I believe that now more than ever, God is using Harvey Cedars in the lives of the teens who come here. They are growing up in uncertain and confusing times, and Harvey Cedars is one place that has remained constant and true to God’s Word.
Many of you have called or written to me concerning the status of our application for improvements that has been under consideration by the State of New Jersey. I am pleased to inform you that we have just heard back from the State and that our application has been approved. I will be sharing more details in the weeks and months to come. I want to thank the many of you who have been praying that they would look favorably upon our application. These improvements are necessary as we look to the future and seek to minister to future generations, or until the Lord returns.
We look forward and wait on the Lord, like a watchman waits for the morning. Until that day, it is our mission to preach the Gospel to a world that so desperately needs to hear of His love and saving grace.
