Always Faithful: Letter from the Director
This summer, we will celebrate our 85th anniversary year. God has been using Harvey Cedars as a lighthouse for proclaiming His gospel since August 1, 1941. As I reflect on these many years of ministry—the three directors who served and countless lives changed—I am reminded in a profound way of God’s faithfulness. He is always faithful.
Deuteronomy tells us that our God is the faithful God who keeps His covenant with those who love Him for a thousand generations. This is one of His great promises, and as I look back through our history, I clearly see that He has kept His promise of faithfulness to Harvey Cedars.
I am humbled as I remember His faithfulness in the past—from the humble beginnings of reclaiming an old hotel long past its usable life, to my father defining and organizing the mission and direction. I also see God working powerfully in the present. Many weekends, we witness teenagers coming to Christ or returning to Him in repentance. During the summer months, we often celebrate families being restored and relationships being made new.
God has promised to be faithful for a thousand generations, and I am confident and trust that He will remain faithful into the future. While I do not know when He will return in power and glory, I look forward to that day. Until then, I trust that He will continue to keep His promises just as He always has. Our part is to love Him and keep His commandments.
Mission and vision are essential to keeping His commandments, and we remain keenly focused on staying true to the mission “where Christ finds people and changes lives” to which we have been called for these past 85 years.
I would like to invite you to come and celebrate God’s faithfulness with us this summer at Harvey Cedars. We have scheduled a special Anniversary Family Week in August and would be honored to celebrate with you. I look forward to seeing you or hearing from you this year.
Telling others about Jesus,
