Maintenance Crew’s 2022 Accomplishments

Ken Maxwell, HCBC’s Facilities Director, recently provided a list of his department’s accomplishments to share with the Board of Trustees at their October meeting. The maintenance crew’s hard work, plus your prayer and financial support, make for quite a long list of achievements each year. A few times a year, volunteers also contribute to maintenance needs. Besides the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance of the grounds and many buildings’ structural, plumbing, HVAC, and fire suppression systems, here are some highlights of the team’s accomplishments so far this year.

Bayview Lodge: Transformed multiple rooms with new flooring and furniture. Installed new railings and painted trim, railings, soffit, and beams on a large portion of waterfront side of Bayview Lodge.

Dining Room & Kitchen: Installed flooring in the dining room West Addition. Replaced an evaporation coil in the kitchen freezer and a compressor in the refrigerator and rebuilt the trash compactor.

Oldham Chapel: Removed rotted plywood on back gable end and changed to AZEK siding.

Pool: Installed ADA-compliant chair (much thanks to the donor!) and new pool heater.

Victorian Hotel: Porch roofing replaced. Completed foundation work and installed new support beams under the Canteen.

Special thanks to Ken and his crew. They make Harvey Cedars the beautiful campus it is!
